Two People Arrested In Cosmos Bank’s Rs 94 Crore Online Fraud Case
On Tuesday (September 11th), Chatushrungi police arrested two persons from Bhiwandi and Aurangabad on Cosmos bank fraud. In addition, FIR filed against five people in this case. Police have come to know that these accused have collected 89 lakh 47 thousand 500 rupees from various ATM centers in Kolhapur by fake (cloned) debit card. Court convicts two accused of 7 days police custody.
Faheem Mehfuz Shaikh (27, a resident of Nurani Complex, Bhiwandi), Fahim Azim Khan (30, a resident of Seema Hospital, Azadnagar, Aurangabad) are convicted in the case. Suhas Subhash Gokhale (53, a resident of Karvenagar) has filed a case in against them. In the cyber attack on Cosmos Bank, Rs.94.42 lacs was robbed. This incident took place between 11 and 13 August. About 2.5 crore rupees have been withdrawn from various ATM centers in India. In this, 2 thousand 800 transactions were conducted through 413 fake debit cards. So, 12,000 transactions were made through Visa card, 78 crore from it and Rs 13.92 crore from Swift transactions.
