Sports nursery to begin in Pune
With the occasion of National Sports Day, the Sports Nursery was started in Pune today. This sports nursery will provide guidance to all sportsman from the first stage of the field to high performance. The sports nursery was inaugurated at the hands of Asian Games bronze medalist tennis player Ankita Raina, along with Olympic badminton coach Nikhil Kanitkar and Olympic medalist Manoj Pingale. District Sports Officer Vijay Santan was present as the chief guest.
While giving more information about the sports nursery, the mentor, Mahendra Gokhale, and Sunder Aiyar said that this is the first such sports nursery that will be started at PYC Hindu Gymkhana and Nigdi Pradhikaran. 25 such sports nurseries will be started by the end of this year. Sunder Aiyar said that the sports nursery will be working in four different ways. In the first section, special guidance will be given to developing their motor skills, running, jumping and coordination (coordination of brain, eyes, and arms) for children up to 4 years. This sports nursery has the basic idea of having a sports training for children of 4 years and above as well.
