Sinhgad’s ropeway project stops due to the forest department permission
Ropeway will be prepared for tourists visiting Sinhagad. Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has claimed that all sections of the forest department have received all permissions. However, information about the project is stuck because the forest department is not getting permission for this work. The project is about 116 crores and a cost of 41 crores rupees will be spent on ropeway.
Tourists are always excited and crowded to see the Sinhgad fort. On Saturday and Sunday and on holidays mainly tourists visit fort on a large number. Ghat road has to be used to reach Sinhagad. However, there is a narrow road to go to the fort. The traffic has to be stopped due to rains in the rainy season. On this backdrop, the tourist requested to construct ropeway at Sinhgad. It is proposed to set up ropeway at Atkarwadi at the base of the fort, also this place is adjacent to the Forest Department. The PMRDA claims that the project has got approval from the forest department. However, the industrialist in the area said the selected area for the Sinhagad project was in the area of the intersection of Forest Department, it is difficult to make developmental work in such condition. The officials of the Public Works Department said that this work will be started only after the permission of the forest department.
