Sanitary napkins will be given for free in Navbharat Sankalpa Siddhi Scheme
After watching the Padman film, local leaders of BJP plan to provide free sanitary napkins to women who are economically weaker. Accordingly, the scheme will be started at the Ganesh festival. Distribution of 5000 napkins will be done, in the first phase. It is planned to accommodate needy women in slums in first five different stages.
BJP city president Yogesh Gogawale and party corporators had announced the decision to distribute free sanitary napkins, inspired by movie Padman. Rani Bhosale, the former Chairperson of Women and Child Welfare Committee, gives the instruction and started implementing it, Gogawale took the initiative to increase its scope, which will be given to people who can not afford sanitary napkins. Gogawale said, “Through the Navbharat Sankalpa Siddhi, women will be given health checks, examinations, diagnosis, and this will be done in ten parts of the city, from which pads will be given to 250 females in the first stage, and five wards have been selected for this.
