Pune Municipal Corporation starts makeover for historic Lal Mahal
In the meeting held on Tuesday by the standing committee’s for the beautification of the historic Lal Mahala, the approval was given to the beautification of about 75 lakh 54 thousand rupees, which was informed by President Yogesh Mulik in a press conference.
Mulik said that beautification and various development works will be done in the Maratha style in the Lalmahal, which is the glory of Pune. This will include plaster, coloring, first-class timepiece and the use of the Armored Tailwad, Nevasa Basalt, Nevasa Bison Panel seat and other developmental works. For this R. P. Chitroda’s approval for the payment of fifty lakh, four thousand seven hundred rupees was approved.
Lauding the development, city-based historian Pandurang Balkawade said, “It is good to hear that PMC has initiated renovation work on such a historical site. The popular sound and light show at Lal Mahal frequently gets drowned out due to the noise of passing traffic. So, closing the ground floor for events is welcome.”
The project of beautification and repair has been undertaken with the aim of conserving and conserving this historic temple of Lal Mahal. It is expected to be completed in four months.In 1630 ShahajiRaje Bhosale built the palace for his wife Jijau and Shivaji Maharaj.
