Pune city is experiencing this year’s monsoon season at the fullest as since the start of monsoon season in June there is continuous and heavy downpour in the city. City has also witnessed this year’s lowest sunshine in the month of the July. Most of the times there are clouds in the sky. This has led to drop in the average temperature in the month of August since last 10 years.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is decrease in average temperature of city by 0.245 degree Celsius. As per IMD the main cause for this drop is cloudy atmosphere and lack of sunshine. This kind decrease in average temperature in August month was observed in 2009. After that, it is has been observed this year only. Generally warmth in the temperature is maintained by solar radiation in daytime but due to cloud cover in the city, there is decrease in temperature.
As per the experts from weather department, if there would have been normal sunshine in month of August, the temperature would also have been maintained. So people, take care of yourselves and take precautions in these changed weather conditions.
