New footover bridge Constructed for passengers at Pune railway station
On Wednesday, the new footover bridge (FOB) was inaugurated at the Pune railway station for the convenience of the passengers. Let me tell you that this is the widest FOB of Central Railway. It was one of the most important projects, which had caught the pace last year.
Railway official said that there is only one footover bridge at railway station so far that is connected to all platforms. It turns out at the second entrance to the station. It was used by travelers most. He said, “In the evening, there is a lot of crowds at the station. During this time passengers miss the train many times. Our effort was to keep a crowd of people on the bridge and the passengers could comfortably reach their platform but the efforts were unsuccessful.
Arjun Joshi resident of Shivaji Nagar, who frequented travel local train from Pune station, said, “I had to undergo difficult situations on the old FOB several times. The remaining two footover bridges were not used mostly by the passengers, because they are not connected to all the platforms.
The railway official said that we had our complete attention to widening the stairs of the new footover bridge. Its stairs have been kept 12 meters wide. Passengers can walk on the stairs of such a wide bridge. Soon, this new FOB will also have automatic electronic stairs. The plastic bottle crushing machine also started in the station from Wednesday itself. This machine has been installed near the waiting room of platform number one.
