Sighting of a wild animal in residential areas is not a new thing to people as place of natural jungle is taken by the concrete jungle. So sometimes these wild animals come in residential areas for food and water. These days residents of Baner-Pashan are worried and concerned because of Monkey menace in the area.
Area around the National Institute of Virology (NIV) has become unsafe for people residing over there as a monkey is causing trouble. People are getting scared to go outside home because a monkey jumps from one tree to other and it also makes loud noises. So for small children, senior citizens they have to be very careful while going out. As per the information, monkey was seen near NIV before some days but since last 2 weeks it is not afraid to come and trouble people even in crowded areas. As per the residents, they are not new to wild animals because of forest land but spotting of a monkey in the area is for the first time.
As per the forest officials, there is a helpline no ‘1926’ where such problems can be solved and forest department is also ready to give sessions on awareness about such situations and sessions on dos and don’ts in case of animal attacks.
