The first qualifier match of the Indian Premier League played on Wankhede stadium was a no-miss show. Wonderful innings from Faf Du Plesis led team Chennai Super Kings to the finals. With a score of 140 to chase Chennai was in no form to win the match unless Du Plesis came to bat. No batsman could score well to keep the team balanced. The team was seen struggling with the bat in its initial overs. But Du Plesis who was merely given a chance throughout the tournament was in no mood to let loose. He did not just bat well but also won the match for his team, sparing 5 balls of the last over. He played 42 balls in which he slammed 5 boundaries and 4 sixes.
The losing team Sunrisers Hyderabad will now face the winner of the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. This will be the final chance for Sunrisers Hyderabad to enter the finals.
