IPS Officer And Former ATS Chief Of Maharashtra, Himanshu Roy Commits Suicide

Mumbai : Himanshu Roy, former anti-terrorism squad chief and one of the top cops of Maharashtra has commited suicide on Friday, May 11, 2018. Himanshu Roy shot himself to death with his service revolver at his government residence in Mumbai. The doctors declared Himanshu Roy dead on arrival when he was moved to the hospital.

Himanshu Roy was reportedly suffering from cancer for past few years. The reason of his suicide is still unknown but the guess is that his illness must have made him take such a step.

Himanshu Roy was a 1988 batch IPS Officer. He was well known for his physique and his bravery. Some of the crucial issues solved by him were IPL spot fixing case, journalist killing case, Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar’s driver Arif’s firing.
