Pune : Shubham Kajale, a 20 year old athlete based in Pune city completes his first Ultraman race successfully. A total of 48 athletes from all over the world had participated in this race of which Shubham finished 36th in the Ultraman-Australia. Shubham is a second year student, studying BCom from SP College, Pune.
In this Ultraman-Australian race athletes are suppose to complete a total of 515.4km long stretch in the given time. It is a three day long race in which the participants will perform different task on three different days. The race starts with 10 km of open water swimming followed by 421.1km of cycling and 84.3km of running. On the first day, participants are to complete 10km of swimming and 140km of cycling in 12 hours. On the second day the participants complete the remaining task of cycling i.e. 281.1km of cycling in12 hours. On the third day, an 84.3 km stretch is to be run by the participants in order to complete the race.
Shubham Kajale said “I was 18 when I had participated in Ironman Australia and had completed the race in 14 hours. After completing the Ironman Challenge, Ultraman was the ultimate dream and I am glad that I was able to finish the race successfully.
