Golden Jubilee Of Balgandhrva Rangamandir | PMC Announces Rs 10 crores For Its Renovation
Balgandhrva Rangamandir, which is crown of the cultural life of Pune city, has recently reached to its Golden Jubilee. Considering these aspects of the cultural diversity of the city and international significance of the city received, and the robust growth of cultural activities, the Corporation has made a budget of Rs.10 crores for the renovation of Balgandhrva theater.The Expert Committee will be appointed and a detailed report will be submitted to corporation.This decision is being welcomed from the cultural field.The amphitheater, which involves the artworks of the Balgandharva Rangamandir, theater for child artists, and the colorful training of programs will be newly created.
Mayor Mukta Tilak had assured that theater will be transformed throughout the year through artists’ rooms, art galleries, sound systems,seat arrangements, and sanitary toilets. Sunil Mahajan of Pune said,on the basis of ‘The Goa Art Academy’ changes are done to Balgandhrva Rangamandir .Keeping the name of theater as it is, this decision should be implemented.The theatre is centrally-located in the Sambhaji Park area of Pune. It is looked upon as the main cultural destination of the city. It is available for cultural, educational, social and religious activities, as well as corporate and business seminars.
