GANPATI GOES GREEN: CELEBRATING GANESH CHATURTHI THE ECO-FRIENDLY WAY

Ganesh Chaturthi sees all pomp and fervour in the city of Pune. The 11-day festival sees elaborate
Ganesha idols and spectacularly decorated Pandals. However, the culmination of this 11-day
celebration comes with emersion of countless Ganpati idols in Mula and Mutha rivers or local water
bodies.

In their attempt to not harm the environment, a lot of devotees have started to opt for an eco-
friendly way to celebrate the Lord's homecoming. To avoid the serious harm to the environment
made with PoP idols being immersed, it is, therefore, necessary to take effective measures to even
make these goodbyes eco-friendly and green.

After a thriving eco-friendly visarjan in 2017, Vodafone India has brought back the eco-friendly
ponds to Vodafone stores across Pune. Now, Punekars can enjoy the dose of culture this festive
season and save the environment with Lord Ganesha's blessings. In case you want to locate the
nearest Vodafone Ecopond

Check out how to carry out an eco-friendly Ganpati Visarjan with Vodafone Eco-Ponds:

         There are 7 ‘Vodafone Eco Ponds’ set up across Vodafone Stores in the city
         4 mobile ‘Vodafone Eco Ponds’ are allocated in Pune to carry out eco-friendly visarjan
         The temporary water tank setups are equipped with a promoter and a lifeguard to
make the visarjan celebrations hassle free
         Devotees can track the nearest Vodafone Eco- Pond using Maps or by
dialling 7391000000

With the aim to promote green and eco-friendly living, this initiative was borne by Vodafone in
collaboration with National Chemical Laboratory (NCL). After the dissolution of PoP idols, the
solution in the tanks will be processed into fertilizer, which then will be distributed among the
farmers in Maharashtra. So, this Ganpati season help the traditions flourish, save the environment
and help farmers get fertiliser blessings from Ganeshas goodbye.

This Ganesh Chaturthi, let’s pledge to say a Green Goodbye to the remover of all obstacles.
