Every year generally at this time of the year, people are busy in the Dhol Tasha practice for Ganapati festival. They perform their art in the immersion procession.
All over the city, we can see different Dhol Tasha Pathaks (groups) are practising for the upcoming festival. People from all age group right from small children, ladies and gents take part in this tradition. Ladies wear the traditional attire like Nine yards saree (Navaari), Nose pin (Nath) etc. The groups have dedicated experts who guide and play these instruments. Schools in the city also take practice of the students for dhol tasha. School Children perform their talent in the Ganapati Immersion Procession.
Many people look at it as a stressbuster from their routine. They find it relaxing and enjoyable. Many dhol tasha pathaks are practising this to preserve the tradition. Once you hear the rhythm of this dhol tasha you want to just hear it more and more. If you are a music lover then you must try this once as I have personally enjoyed it performing in the dhol tasha pathaks.
