Cyber loot in Pune | Cosmos Bank’s server hacked, hackers robbed of 94 crores
In Pune, a case of theft of 94 crores 42 lakhs has been reported by hacking the data of COSMOS Bank headquarters in Ganesh Khind, Pune. A case has been registered in Chaturshringi police station of Pune.
In this case, Hong Kong’s ALM Trading Limited Company has been named as accused. According to the FIR, a Hong Kong company and an unknown person have been accused in this case. Cosmos Bank is one of the old cooperative banks in the country. It was established in 1906. According to the complaint lodged in the police station, after hacking the banks headquarter’s server, stolen information of Visa and Rupee debit cards, 78,000 foreign transactions were withdrawn in about 12 thousand times. Apart from this, in India, 2849 times were withdrawn and 25 million rupees were withdrawn. Altogether, 94 crores 42 lakh cyber stolen has been done. This cyber robbery has happened on August 11 from 3 pm to 10 pm.
The amount transferred in two ways:
The bank said in the FIR- ATM switch (server) was hacked in the bank headquarters of Ganeshkhind Road, through malware attack. During this time, 805 crore rupees through 14, 849 transactions of the debit card were transferred from the accounts of the bank and transferred to foreign accounts. Thousands of debit cards were hacked through malware attack. The second transaction was done through Swift. In this, a sum of Rs 13.9 crore was sent to foreign accounts. The transaction was done on August 11 and 13.
