Construction of double cycle track from Sinhagad Road to Hadapsar will start soon
Proposal for setting up a separate double cycle track from Sinhagad Road to Hadapsar is in the final stage. The tender process has been completed and funds have been available. However, the work will be started after getting the formal approval of Krishna Valley Corporation. Therefore, a 17-km continuous cycling track will be available to Puneites on the street pattern of river banks.
Considering the continuous deterioration of the city’s weather, pollution and traffic, a proposal for a continuous cycle track has been prepared. There is a double cycle track on the road available on the canal. Many NGOs have also welcomed this project. There will be a width of about three to five meters of track. The tender was made by the Municipal Transport Department to set up this cycle track. They are filled with five to six contractors.
About 55 crore rupees is worth the project and one has to complete the work in one year. The design of the cycle track has been approved by the Pune division of the Water Resources Department. MLA Jagdish Mulik is pursuing the matter with Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan. Additional Commissioner Sheetal Teli Ugale also discussed with the officials of the corporation. After the approval of the corporation, the construction of a cycle track will be started.
