About Taljai Hills
Taljai Hills is located at the heart of the city. Although this place is rarely known to people, it is slowly gaining popularity. Taljai Hill is located in the Sahkar nagar area of Pune. The road to this hill passes through the Shivaji Maratha College campus. Just beyond Shivaji Maratha College, there is a picturesque mountain path. The temple here is dedicated to Goddess Taljai and the temple is situated on a small hillock which also holds a preserved forest. Among the hustle and bustle of a city, this is a beautiful and tranquil place to be. This mini forest is preserved with various types of trees and many animals and birds are found here. The most spotted one here is the peacock. There are plenty of peacocks found at this hill regardless in their natural settings. Despite peacocks, there are several other birds that can be spotted here. Hence this remains a favorite place for the Bird watchers of Pune.
Taljai Hills has its own distinct flora and fauna and the Pune Municipal Corporation, analyzing the importance of this hill has taken special efforts to preserve and maintain its serenity. Various types of butterflies, reptiles, birds have been spotted here. This place is beautiful throughout the year, but monsoon has its own magic of turning surroundings green. The area becomes lush green during monsoon and gives a beautiful site. People come here for morning and evening walks. Sunrise and sunset are best enjoyed at Taljai Hills. This place attracts a lot of photographers and usually you can spot then with their heavy gears sitting for hours to get the perfect click.
The locals staying nearby flock here almost everyday to enjoy the beauty of the place. The place is a perfect getaway from the busy city life. Taljai hill is pollution free as there are a lot of trees and coming here for a walk rejuvenates oneself.
