Modak (मोदक) is a sweet dumpling popular in Maharashtra. Traditionally, Modak is made up of fresh grated coconut and jaggery, while the outer shell is made up of rice flour or wheat flour mixed with khava or maida flour and given the traditional shape to it. They can be steamed or fried too.
